Litter pick and cut saplings

This was the area around the oak tree in the gully on 18th June.
You can see the many small saplings, these had all grown since our first holm oak hunt in Feb 05.

We soon had this area cleared and also did some work on the very steep slopes above the nursery.

Meanwhile the litter pick gang were also hard at work in the summer sunshine.

This is the remains of the large Holm Oak in Crews Hole Woodland that was felled by Bristol Parks' contractors.
Hopefully the number of Holm Oak saplings appearing on the hill will now be reduced.
This is a great example of Bristol Parks and Friends of Troopers Hill working in partnership.
