Filming on Troopers Hill

--- Posting from our now closed Forum ---
Bristol City Council's Film Liaison Office have been excellent at keeping in touch about proposals for filming on Troopers Hill. We were extremely pleased when they relocated filming away from Troopers Hill when the subject matter was foraging for food. Troopers Hill is a Local Nature Reserve that is encircled by housing and the loss of particular food plants could have a severe impact on wildlife that live here. "Leave only footprints and take only photos" is a reasonable guide.

We were very pleased to hear not only from the Film Liaison Office but also the Unit Manager of "Sparticles" about the proposal to film some scenes for a CBBC children's drama on Troopers Hill. The plot required tents on the Hill and a paramotor to fly over the Hill. Bristol Parks arranged for our Park Keeper, Jules, to be available on the day, and he walked the Unit Manager around the site beforehand, agreeing issues such as no vehicles coming on to the Hill.

Filming finished around midday and I am expecting "tent city" to be removed soon. You should be able to start watching the drama in January but it may not be "Sparticles" when it comes out. Below are a few photos of the event. Of course, I am barred from the photo competition but if anyone else out there took some please do enter them. See http://www.troopers-hill.org.uk/photo2010/index.htm for details.

Sparticles became "The Sparticle Mystery" and is being repeated on CBBC at the moment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00yyfsl

Does anyone know what episode Troopers Hill appeared in?
