Something new on Troopers Hill

--- Posting from our now closed Forum ---
Today, if you were on the Hill, you might have noticed sculptor Steve Joyce, wielding a chisel and drill.

He was installing metal plates to mark the Brass, Copper and Zinc trails that will provide fun, learning activities for visiting schools and families with young children. More about the project on http://www.troopers-hill.org.uk/steppingforward/schoolproject.htm

These are the metal plates that have been produced using artwork from year 3 pupils at Summerhill Academy.

The copper plates were the hardest to photograph as they are so reflective. The copper will soon go darker and the etching will contrast much more.

While Steve was working we had our first "customer" visit, perhaps a little younger than the target age range we had in mind.

You will spot these plates in a variety of places.

The materials to tell you how you can use the trails will be published on this website soon.
